Endangering the Welfare of a Minor Investigation in Daviess County

(Henderson, KY) - Summary: On August 18, 2006, Jessica Gootee, was taken to the Owensboro Mercy Hospital and subsequently transferred to Kosair Hospital in Louisville. Jessica was found to have marijuana in her system, which she had apparently ingested. The child was eventually released from the hospital. August 24, 2006, as a result of a criminal investigation and after consulting with the County Attorney's Office, the mother, Samantha Drake, and the grandmother, Peggy Krahwinkel, were both charged with Endangering the Welfare of a Minor. The investigation is ongoing.
