Owensboro Man Charged with Assault 1st

(Henderson, KY) - An image of Jonathan S. Lindsey, click here to enlargeThe Kentucky State Police has charged twenty-one year old Owensboro man with Assault 1st in connection with injuries to a three month old male juvenile.

Jonathan S. Lindsey has been charged with Assault and lodged in the Daviess County Detention Center after an indictment was returned by the April Grand Jury in Daviess County.

Det. A. Jones of the Kentucky State Police, was contacted by Department for Community Based Services on February 1, 2006 advising of a possible assault to the juvenile.

At this time it appears that the child was taken by a family member to Mercy Hospital in Owensboro, then the child was then taken to Kosair's Children's Hospital in Louisville by air ambulance.

Det Jones presented her investigation along with the medical reports to the April Grand Jury. Based on information in the investigation, the father of the child, Jonathan Lindsey had struck the child in the head while at his home in Owensboro.

At this time, the three-month-old, along with another child in the home has been removed and placed in foster care.

Lindsey was charged with Assault 1st, which is a class B felony that carries a possible 10 to 20 year penalty.
