Drug Arrest in Henderson, KY

(Henderson, KY) - The Kentucky State Police, Drug Enforcement Special Investigation West, ATF, Henderson County Sheriff's Department and the Henderson City Police Department conducted a buy-bust yesterday at a residence located at 531 Fair street in Henderson.

A street level officer purchased one ounce of crystal methamphetamine from James D. Morgan for $1300.00. Morgan came from the residence to our vehicle and sold the meth to one of our undercover officer. The officer left the residence and called Morgan back to give him more money. The officer returned with the money and they left the residence together. A traffic stop was conducted and Morgan was arrested and brought to the Henderson post. A search warrant was issued for the residence and the vehicles located at the residence.

An image of Robert StrahlArrested at the residence was Robert D. Strahl, age 23 of Evansville Indiana. Strahl was charged with receiving stolen property over three hundred dollars (Rugar.357 revolver Stolen Firearm out of Mayfield KY). Officer located three handguns in his vehicle that was located on the property. One weapon was located under the front passenger seat and the magazine to that weapon was later found in one of the suspect's back pocket. The three weapons; one Rugar .357 revolver, Lorcin.380 automatic and a Highpoint 9mm pistol with laser-sites.

An image of Charles JoinerThe second suspect arrested at the residence was Charles D. Joiner, age 29 of Henderson. Joiner's 1999 Dodge 4x4 was searched and 7 grams of crystal methamphetamine was found in the front seat along with scales, baggies and 35 different prescription drugs. Joiner was charged with Trafficking in a controlled substance 1st(Crystal Methamphetamine), Possession of a controlled substance 3rd. (Drug Unknown at this time). Joiner also had a loaded magazine from one of the pistols recovered from Strahl's vehicle in his possession.

An image of James MorganThe third suspected arrested in the case was 24 year old James Dean Morgan of Henderson. We have conducted several buys over the past several months, purchased in the past buys were 2.25 pounds of marijuana, two hand guns during the purchase of drugs and 2.25 ounces of crystal methamphetamine. Seized during the search were a 1999 Dodge pick-up truck and a 1999 Kawasaki motorcycle.

This is an on going investigation and more charges maybe forth coming.
