Felony Arrest on the Assault Investigation

(Columbia, KY) - On Thursday October 12, after a joint investigation by Det George Atwood of the Ky State Police Post in Columbia and the Cumberland County Sheriff James Pruitt, Robert D. Thompson age 27, of Burkesville was arrested for Kidnapping, Rape 1st, Robbery 1st, and Burglary 1st. Det. Atwood and Sheriff Pruitt were assisted by the Burkesville Police Department and other members of the Cumberland County Sheriff Department.

Thompson broke into the home of an elderly female on October 11th. While inside the residence, he sexually assaulted the homeowner, kidnapped and robbed her.
