Assault Investigation in Cumberland County

(Columbia, KY) - On Wednesday, October 11, 2006, Detective George Atwood responded to a burglary complaint in Cumberland County. In the early morning hours, a perpetrator broke into the home of a 70 year old female of Burkesville, Kentucky. The victim was assaulted, kidnapped and later released in Tompkinsville, Kentucky.

The perpetrator left the residence, forcing the victim into her dark blue 1993 ½ ton Chevrolet pickup truck with chrome toolbox and traveled to the Tompkinsville area. The perpetrator made numerous stops in the Tompkinsville area.
