Post 15 Monthly Activity Report For September

(Columbia, KY) - During the month of September 2006, there were 72 traffic accidents investigated by the State Police working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell, Taylor and Washington.

There were three fatalities: DAVID D. HUFF, Tompkinsville, Kentucky was killed in Monroe County on 09/03/06, JEFFERY A. COVEY, Albany, Kentucky was killed in Clinton County on 09/14/06, and ROBERT A. ODANIEL, Lebanon, Kentucky was killed in Marion County on 09/29/06. This brings our yearly fatality count to 37 compared with 36 through this same period in 2005.

State wide fatality count stands at 651 compared with 722 through this same period in 2005.

During the month of September 2006, there were 1388 citations written, 346 courtesy notices written, 3100 vehicles inspected, 1103 complaints answered, 62 motorists assisted, 68 criminal cases opened and 290 criminal arrests made.
