Two Employees of the Department of Transportation Highway Department Were Arrested

(Columbia, KY) - On Monday, July 10, 2006 two employees of the Department of Transportation Highway Department were arrested after a joint investigation by the Kentucky State Police and the Department of Transportation, Office of the Inspector General. Kentucky State Police Detective Donnie Moses charged twenty-five year-old; John Wesley Lee and thirty year-old Michael Eric Maupin, both of Lebanon, with one count each of Felony Fraudulent use of a Credit Card. Both Lee and Maupin are accused of using a State issued gas credit card to purchase fuel for their personal vehicles. These arrests stem from an investigation into the misuse of Kentucky's Fleet One^TM credit card, which is used by Kentucky State Employees to purchase gas for state owned vehicles. More charges are expected as the investigation continues.
