Two Employees of the Department of Transportation Highway Department Were Arrested
Date of News Release: 07/10/2006
(Columbia, KY) - On Monday, July 10, 2006 two employees of the Department of Transportation Highway Department were arrested after a joint investigation by the Kentucky State Police and the Department of Transportation, Office of the Inspector General. Kentucky State Police Detective Donnie Moses charged twenty-five year-old; John Wesley Lee and thirty year-old Michael Eric Maupin, both of Lebanon, with one count each of Felony Fraudulent use of a Credit Card. Both Lee and Maupin are accused of using a State issued gas credit card to purchase fuel for their personal vehicles. These arrests stem from an investigation into the misuse of Kentucky's Fleet OneTM credit card, which is used by Kentucky State Employees to purchase gas for state owned vehicles. More charges are expected as the investigation continues.
