Stats From Post 15 For June 2006

(Columbia, KY) - During the month of June 2006, there were 53 traffic accidents investigated by the State Police working in the Post 15 area in the 11 counties of Adair, Casey, Clinton, Cumberland, Green, Marion, Metcalfe, Monroe, Russell, Taylor and Washington. There were eight fatalities - JOSHUA W. COX, Russell Springs, Kentucky was killed in Russell County on 06/01/06, AUSTIN STRODE, Gamaliel, Kentucky was killed in Monroe County on 06/03/06, SAMUEL F. HUFF, Albany, Kentucky was killed in Clinton County on 06/01/06, CLEMA DAVIS, Russell Springs, Kentucky was killed in Russell County on 06/10/06, CHARLES A. BLANDFORD, Lebanon, Kentucky was killed in Marion County on 06/11/06, JAMES R. BRIGHT, Lebanon, Kentucky was killed in Marion County on 06/11/06, SHARLET GAIL HANDY, Columbia, Kentucky was killed in Adair County on 06/14/06, and KENNETH WAYNE PEASLEY, Columbia, Kentucky was killed in Adair County on 06/25/06. This brings our yearly fatality count to 25 compared with 22 through this same period in 2005.

State wide fatality count stands at 416 compared with 443 through this same period in 2005.

During the month of June 2006, there were 1367 citations written, 363 courtesy notices written, 1993 vehicles inspected, 971 complaints answered, 112 motorists assisted, 94 criminal cases opened and 249 criminal arrests made.
