Double Fatal Crash on Highway 327 in Marion County, KY

Columbia, KY - Kentucky State Troopers Billy Gregory and Nathan Rhodes are investigating a collision on Kentucky Highway 327, in Marion County, that claimed the lives of two Marion County men, and severely injured a third.

The incident began when a Marion County Deputy Sheriff attempted to stop a 2002 Chevrolet pickup truck, after he observed it driving erratically. When the deputy activated his emergency equipment the driver of the Chevrolet, 21 year-old Charles A. Blandford of Lebanon, KY., attempted to flee for a short distance, lost control of the vehicle, ran off the roadway, and struck a telephone pole and a tree.

Mr. Blandford was later pronounced dead at the scene by the Marion County Coroner.

A passenger, 17 year-old James R. Bright of Lebanon, KY was also pronounced dead at the scene.

A second passenger, 19 year-old Johnathan A. Dow of Lebanon, KY was flown from the scene to the University of Louisville Medical Center.

No seatbelts were in use by any of the victims.

The investigation continues by Troopers at the Columbia State Police Post.
