Robbery 1st (Arrest) in Greenup County

(Ashland, KY) - Kentucky State Police in Ashland is continuing its investigation into the Armed Robbery that occurred at Tackett's Grocery Store on Ky 207. Kentucky State Police Trooper Ben Tanner was dispatched Sunday afternoon to respond to an armed robbery that had just occurred at Tackett's Grocery located just off KY 1 about 5 miles south of Greenup. While enroute to the scene, Trooper Tanner was observing for the suspect vehicle, which was reported as a blue Dodge Neon. Trooper Tanner spotted the vehicle on KY 207 near the junction of Tom Road (a few miles North of Flatwoods, Ky) in which he conducted a traffic stop. Trooper Tanner subsequently arrested the perpetrator (Farron Frasure) for the armed robbery of the store. The suspect's 16 year old stepson was a passenger in the vehicle operated by Frasure but is not believed to be involved with the robbery. According to the KSP authorities, Frasure entered the grocery store and brandished a handgun to the cashier. The cashier panicked and fled to the rear of the store. The suspect then fled the store and left the scene in his vehicle. There were no injuries in the incident, which remains under investigation by Trooper Ben Tanner.
