Drug Arrest in Boyd County

Kentucky State Police in Ashland have arrested an Ashland resident early this morning on drug and traffic related charges following a routine traffic stop this morning on US 60 in Cannonsburg, Ky. Joseph Smith, age 21, was arrested after Trooper Martin conducted a traffic stop for expired registration plates. After further investigation, Trooper Martin located a small amount of drugs and prescription pills. Smith was arrested and transported to the Boyd County Detention Center.
