Pursuit and Robbery Suspects Wanted in Greenup County, KY

(Ashland, KY) - On July 11, 2006 at approximately 10:12 am, the Kentucky State Police Post in Ashland was given an attempt to locate by the Sciota County Sheriffs Department. We were asked to observe for a Gray Toyota Pickup Truck / two occupants with Ohio Registration EQ61UE. The Occupants and Vehicle were involved in a Robbery of the Desco Credit Union in Wheelersburg, Ohio.
Shortly after receiving the information, Tpr. Shane Copley noticed a Greenup County Sheriffs Deputy and a Scioto County Sheriffs Deputy in pursuit of the vehicle-traveling north on US 23 from Greenup, KY. Tpr. Copley joined in the pursuit. The vehicle traveled at speeds of 80 - 100 mph and was reckless weaving in and out of traffic. The vehicle turned onto Coal Branch off of US 23 and then onto a private drive. The suspects abandoned the vehicle and entered a wooded area. The search continues at this time. Departments involved: Kentucky State Police, Greenup Co. Sheriffs Dept., Boyd Co. Sheriffs Dept., Scoita Co. Sheriffs Dept., Russell Police Dept., South Shore Police Dept., Wurtland Police Dept. and the Federal Bureau of Investigations.
One suspect is believed to be Willis C. Cochran DOB: 12-25-1961. He is a white male approximately 5'10" & 170lbs. He has brown hair and green eyes. Cochran was last seen wearing blue jeans, denim shirt and a red ball cap. The second suspects identity is unknown. However, he is a white male approximately 25-35 yoa and 5'8" tall. He has brown hair and was last seen wearing a denim shirt. Willis C. Cochran is considered armed and dangerous with violent tendencies. He is currently wanted by the following agencies for previous crimes: Lawrence Co. Ohio Sheriffs Dept. -Probation Violation, the Ironton Police Dept. - Complicity to Aggravated Robbery and the Jackson Co. Sheriffs Dept Jackson Ohio - Robbery.
