Lawrence County High School Investigation and Arrest

(Ashland, KY) - The Kentucky State Police in Ashland would like to announce that two arrest have been made on the burglary and vandalism of the Lawrence County High School. The investigation began on April 22, 2006 when vandals forced their way into the School located on Bulldog Lane in Louisa, KY. Extensive damage was done to the School and property.

Stevens, click here to enlarge photoThrough the collective efforts of the Kentucky State Police, Lawrence County Sheriffs Department and the Louisa Police Department information was obtained resulting in the location and arrests of two suspects. Bill J. Stevens (18 yoa) of Louisa, Ky along with a Juvenile also of Louisa, KY were taken into custody today from the Lawrence County High School. Mr. Stevens was lodged in the Big Sandy Regional Detention Facility and the Juvenile was lodged in the Boyd County Juvenile Detention Facility.

Detectives Mark Padgett and Gary Lafferty, both of the Kentucky State Police, along with Sheriff Garrett Roberts and Louisa Police Officer Tim Ellis worked in cooperation to solve the case. Troopers John Hay and Craig Morella assisted with the case.
