Injury Crash on KY 180 in Boyd County, KY

(Ashland, KY) - The Kentucky State Police in Ashland are investigating a two-vehicle injury accident that occurred on KY 180 in Boyd County. The accident occurred around 3:20 p.m. this evening.

Jeremy Bevins was driving an 1992 Red Chevrolet Pickup with two occupants. (Jeremy D. Bevins 24 years of age of Catlettsburg, KY and passenger, Crystal Spurlock 22 years of age also of Catlettsburg, KY.) David Lambert Jr. was driving an 1999 White Ford Extended Cab Pickup with two occupants. (David M. Lambert Jr. 34 years of age of Louisa, KY and passenger, Marta Lambert 36 years of age also of Louisa, KY.) Jeremy Bevins was traveling south on KY 180 while David Lambert Jr. was traveling north. Jeremy Bevins came upon vehicles stopped in traffic. Jeremy Bevins applied his brakes then swerved left into the northbound lane of travel, striking David Lambert Jr. head on. Passenger of Jeremy Bevins's vehicle was airlifted to Cabell Huntington Hospital by Health Net for multiple injuries. Jeremy Bevins was transported by the Boyd County EMS to Cabell Huntington Hospital as well. He to suffered multiple injuries. Both were not wearing seatbelts. The occupants of David Lambert Jr. were wearing their seatbelts and were not injured.

The accident is still under investigation by Tpr. Mike Murriell. Alcohol was not a factor.
