Providing Comfort to Children in Crisis
Date of News Release: 12/20/2006
(Frankfort, KY ) - The Kentucky State Police at Post 12 will have help providing comfort to children in crisis thanks to a generous donation of blankets and toys from Helping Hands Healing Hearts, Inc.
The non-profit organization provides the bundles to local law enforcement officers to be given to children involved in traffic accidents, fires and domestic situations. The blankets symbolize security and the toy symbolizes fun, according to Heather Bivens of Frankfort. She and Nikki Miller, also of Frankfort, started the program. Bivens said troopers working the incidents will be given to children for comfort and distract the children who may be involved.
KSP Post 12 serves Anderson, Fayette, Franklin, Scott, Shelby, Spencer and Woodford counties.
