Burglary Investigation in Spencer County

(Frankfort, KY) - On 08/18/2006, between approximately 800 AM and 600 PM, an unknown person or persons entered a residence in the 700 block of Little Elk Road, Mount Eden, Spencer County. The perpetrators removed numerous firearms, notably two .30-06 bolt action rifles mounted with Kahles scopes and two 6.5x55mm bolt-action rifles. Also taken in the burglary was a large amount of jewelry and camera equipment, most notably two Corydon Central High School class rings dated 1970 and a Canon EOS 20D digital SLR camera. The total value of property stolen in the burglary is estimated at $30,000. The burglary is being investigated by the Kentucky State Police and Spencer County Sheriff's Office. Many items taken have a great deal of sentimental value to the victims of this crime, and are irreplaceable.
