Illegal Sale of Fireworks in Scott County, KY

(FRANKFORT, Ky.) - Earlier today the Kentucky State Police in Frankfort along with the State Fire Marshals Office began an investigation of the possession and sale of illegal fireworks in the Georgetown, KY area.

Arson Investigator Kevin Dunn of Kentucky State Police Post 12 Frankfort and Deputy State Fire Marshal Calvin Crupper responded to a fireworks stand located at 28 Cherry Blossom Road Georgetown, KY.

Through their joint investigation a sizeable amount of illegal fireworks valued at $5,000 were seized.

The operator, Chad S. Heinrichs, of Cynthiana, KY was cited for the retail sale of illegal fireworks, which is a class A misdemeanor. They were assisted by Arson Investigator Curt Combs of KSP Post 6, Arson Investigator Rodney Carroll of KSP Post 14, Deputy Fire Marshal Jeremy Rodgers and the Georgetown Fire Department.
