Fatal Crash on US 127 in Franklin County, KY

(Frankfort, KY) - Burlita W. Best (Unit 1) and Joy A. Laubscher (Unit 2) were southbound on US 127. Ms. Best was attempting to pass Ms. Laubscher in a turning lane. Ms. Best's vehicle ran out of turn lane and attempted to get back into the left lane. Ms. Best's vehicle struck Ms. Laubscher's vehicle on the rear driver side causing Ms. Laubscher to lose control of her vehicle. Ms. Laubscher's vehicle overturned several times in the northbound lanes of US 127. Ms. Best lost control of her vehicle and overturned several times in the southbound lanes of US 127.

Ms. Best was not wearing a seatbelt and was ejected. Ms. Best was pronounced dead at the hospital.

Investigation ongoing by Kentucky State Police.
