Fatal Traffic Crash in Laurel County

(LONDON, KY) - On Sunday, November 19, 2006, at 1418 AM the Kentucky State Police responded to a single vehicle traffic crash with injury on I-75 in Laurel County. Trooper Matt Reid determined that a 2002, Chevrolet, driven by Margaret Mae Hinzman, 71, Riverview, MI was southbound on I-75 when it ran off the roadway onto a grassy area, impacted a guardrail and overturned. Hinzman was ejected from the vehicle during the crash and was fatally injured. A passenger in the vehicle was transported to the Marymount Medical Center for treatment (condition unknown). Trooper Reid was assisted at the scene by Troopers Duane Foley and Jeff Centers, Laurel County EMS, London/Laurel County Rescue Squad and the Laurel County Coroner Office. Trooper Reid continues the investigation.
