Fatal Traffic Crash in Wayne County

(LONDON, KY) - On Wednesday, November 15, 2006, at 11:31 AM the Kentucky State Police responded to a single vehicle traffic crash on Slick Ford Road in Wayne County, KY. Trooper Anthony Phillips determined that a 1989 GMC pick-up truck driven by James W. Lowe, 71, of Monticello, lost control in a curve on the rain soaked roadway, struck a tree, and overturned into a creek. Lowe and his passenger Rener P. Lowe, 67, of Monticello, were pronounced dead at the scene by the Wayne County Coroner Forrest Hicks. Trooper Phillips was assisted at the scene by Deputy Ralph Miniard of the Wayne County Sheriff's Office and the Wayne County Coroner. Trooper Phillips continues the investigation.
