Fatal Traffic Crash in Laurel County

(LONDON, KY) - On Saturday, November 11, 2006, at 1200 PM the Kentucky State Police responded to a single vehicle traffic crash on KY 3434 in Laurel County. Trooper Matt Reid determined that a 1990, Ford, Ranger pick-up, driven by Jacqueline D. Hollingshead, 36, Dawsonville, GA was westbound on KY 343 when it entered the westbound ditch line, overcorrected, crossed the highway, entered the eastbound ditch line and then overturned onto the driver's side. Hollingshead, who was partially ejected, received fatal injuries during the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene by Laurel County Deputy Coroner Mike Cox. Two passengers in the Hollingshead vehicle were transported to the Marymount Medical Center in London, KY for treatment of minor injuries. Assisting Trooper Reid at the scene was the London/Laurel County Rescue Squad, East Bernstadt Fire Department and the Laurel County EMS. Trooper Reid continues the investigation.
