Fatal Traffic Crash in Rockcastle County

(LONDON, KY) - On Wednesday, October 25, 2006, at 08:12 AM the Kentucky State Police responded to Traffic Crash with Injury on I-75, 2 miles north of Mount Vernon, in Rockcastle County KY. Accident Reconstructionist Detective Mike Bowling determined that a 1995, Dodge, passenger car, driven by Kierra Neal, 20, Irvine, KY was northbound on I-75. Neal lost control of her vehicle, crossed the median and entered the path of a 1995, Chevrolet, Pick-up truck driven by Dennis C. McKinney, 31, Berea, KY. McKinney was southbound on I-75 when his vehicle was struck by the Neal vehicle. McKinney and a passenger in his vehicle, Ty Jackson, 33, Richmond, KY received injuries in the crash and were flown to the UK Medical Center in Lexington, KY for treatment. Neal was fatally injured in the crash and was pronounced dead at the scene by the Rockcastle County Coroner. Assisting Detective Bowling at the scene were Troopers Coby Smith and Mike King. Detective Bowling continues the investigation.
