Drug Arrest in Laurel County

(LONDON, KY) - On Friday, September 01, 2006, at 03:48 AM Kentucky State Police Trooper Mark Ridener conducted a traffic stop on a 1984 Oldsmobile Cutlass, without a registration plate, at the 33 mile marker on I-75 in Laurel County, KY. Upon discovering other violations of law Trooper Ridener received consent to search. Trooper Ridener with the assistance of Trooper Don Sivils, Sergeant Steve Walker and KSP K-9 Officer Trooper Jason McCowan found an amount of Marijuana and over Twelve Thousand Dollars ($12,000.00) in cash. Trooper Ridener arrested Jerome Page Qwindel, 22 of Detroit, Michigan on charges of DUI, Possession of Marijuana, Promoting Contraband 1ST and other traffic charges. Qwindel was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center. Trooper Ridener continues the investigation.
