Assault Arrest In Laurel County

(LONDON, KY) - On Monday April 3, 2006 at approximately 3:00 a.m. Kentucky State Police in London received a call from Laurel Dispatch of a possible assault on a five (5) year old male juvenile.
Kentucky State Police Detective Don Trosper responded to the Marymount Hospital emergency room where he met with the child's mother, Krystal Vaughn. The mother told Detective Trosper that she was awakened by the child crying. The mother stated her boyfriend Elmo Lee Greer Jr.(27)100 Little Falls Road London KY was not in the bed so she went to find her son and, found the child and Elmo Lee Greer Jr. in the living room of the residence. The mother stated the child was crying and bloody. When she entered the room the accused Elmo Lee Greer Jr. left the room and went into the bedroom. The mother grabbed the child and left the residence. The child suffered a broken nose, bruises and, contusions. The child stated that Elmo Lee Greer Jr. had hit him with his fist.
The accused Elmo Lee Greer Jr. was arrested at 6:13 a.m. and charged with assault 2nd. The accused was lodged in the Laurel County Detention Center. According to the report drugs and alcohol is believed to be involved. The investigation continues with Detective Don Trosper leading. Detective Trosper was assisted by London Police Department and, the Laurel County Sheriff's Department.
