Death Investigation in Clay County, KY

(London, KY) - On Tuesday January 17, 2006 Kentucky State Police at London was notified that a male subject had shot himself inside a vehicle in front of a residence on KY 2000 in Clay County.

Troopers from the London post responded to the scene and, up on their arrival the vehicle had caught fire and, had been extinguished by the fire department. A severely burned body was located inside the vehicle.

The vehicle and body are being transported to the state medical examiners office in Frankfort for an autopsy and identification.

The cause of vehicle fire and death has not been determined at this time.

The investigation is continuing by Kentucky State Police Detective Mark Allen. He was assisted at the scene by trooper Jason O'Bannon, Ritchie Baxter, Shaler Jones, Jeff Senters and, Lt. Curtis O'Bannon, Kentucky State Police Arson Investigator Henry Nunn.
