The bodies of 2 missing Kentucky State Reformatory inmates are located in the Valley View Landfill in Trimble County

(Sligo, Ky.) - On Thursday, July 14, 2005 the Kentucky State Police, Campbellsburg Post were notified of the discovery of a body in the Valley View Landfill in Trimble County shortly before noon today. State Police detectives and personnel from the Kentucky State Reformatory positively identified the body as that of Avery C. Roland. Avery Roland, an inmate had been missing from the Kentucky State Reformatory since early Wednesday, July 13, 2005. Kentucky State Police troopers, detectives, KSP cadaver search dog, Trimble County Sheriff Tim Coons, corrections personnel and landfill employees searched the landfill for approximately 6 more hours before discovering the body of Michael J. Talbot. Michael Talbot was also an inmate that had been missing from the Kentucky State Reformatory since early Wednesday, July 13, 2005. Both bodies were removed from the landfill by the Trimble County Coroner Bill Ransdell. The cause of death in not known at this time and the Kentucky State Medical Examiners Office in Louisville will perform autopsies in the morning to determine the cause of death. Kentucky State Police Detective Chris Clark is the lead investigator in this case.
