Update to the Butler County Murder Investigation

The victim name has been released: The victim is Michelle Baker age 39 of Rochester, KY. See the news release below.

(BOWLING GREEN, KY) - Butler County Dispatch received a call from a subject at 7250 Woodbury Loop in Butler County and was requesting medical attention for an unknown type situation.

Trooper Phelps heard the call over the county radio and went to assist. Upon arrival, he observed a victim with a gunshot wound lying inside the residence. A male suspect (Jonathan Cardwell) was located outside the rear of the residence. The victim was then transported to the Medical Center in Bowling Green where the victim was then pronounced deceased upon arrival.

The male suspect (Jonathan Cardwell) was taken into custody at the scene without further incident. The investigation is ongoing and no further details about this investigation are being released at this time.

The victim name is being withheld at this time.
