Theft By Deception Over $300.00 Investigation
Date of News Release: 10/05/2005
(BOWLING GREEN, KY) - On 09-27-2005 the Kentucky State Police was contacted by an individual that stated that her Funeral Director Tim Hanna was missing. Her concern was that she had purchased a pre-paid funeral plan through the Memorial Funeral Home in Russellville.
The Kentucky State Police and the Attorney Generals Office contacted the Funeral Funding Trust of Kentucky to inquire about the complainants status. The Funeral Funding Trust of Kentucky advised that the complainant did not possess an account with the fund.
The Kentucky State Police and the Attorney Generals Office met with the Logan Commonwealth Attorney Charles Orange to relate the case to him. The Commonwealth Attorneys Office generated a warrant for the arrest of Funeral Home Director Tim Hanna.
Mr. Hanna was arrested 10-04-2005, and lodged in the Warren County Regional Jail.
The Attorneys General Office has asked that anyone with this pre-paid funeral plan through the Memorial Funeral Home to contact the Kentucky State Police at 1-800-222-5555 (in the state of Kentucky only, does not work out of state) or 270-782-2010, or the Commonwealths Attorney in Logan County.
Detective Jaman Childers is the lead investigator on the case.
