Pursuit/Arrest Made in Barren County, KY

Date of News Release: 09/25/2005

(Barren County, KY) - Trooper Lonnie Hodges observed a maroon Ford Escort traveling Westbound on KY 90 at approximately 67 mph. Trooper Hodges activated emergency equipment and attempted to initiate a traffic stop on the vehicle. The vehicle then accelerated in an attempt to elude the officer, reaching speeds in excess of up to 90 mph. The vehicle turned on to US 31W and traveled Northbound where the subject attempted to elude officers on several county roads before exiting on to Mammoth Cave Road. The vehicle continued on Mammoth Cave Road until reaching Jenny Road where it exited traveling Northbound. The vehicle then turned left on to Toohey Ridge Road traveling back into the limits of Cave City. The vehicle then came to a rest on Tribble Lane where the subject was apprehended.

Dennis Miller of Glasgow, KY was charged with Reckless Driving, Improper Passing, Disregarding Traffic Control Device, Disregarding Stop Sign, No Operators License, Improperly On Left Side Of Road, Resisting Arrest, Fleeing Or Evading Police 1st, Wanton Endangerment 1st Police Officer, 4 Counts Of Wanton Endangerment 1st and was lodged in the Barren County Detention Center.
