Two People Arrested at Butler County Courthouse

(Butler County, KY) - Terry Hunt 39 years of age, and Justin Hawkins 24 years of age, both of Bowling Green were arrested on 07-26-2005 at the Butler County Courthouse on charges of Receiving Stolen Property Over $300.00. Hunt and Hawkins had driven a 2005 BMW to the courthouse to attend their jury trial for Four Counts of Arson 2nd Degree and Three Counts of Fraudulent Insurance Acts Over $300.00.

After the discovery of the stolen vehicle, Trooper Eric Evans and Arson Investigator David West obtained a consent to search document from Hunt and Hawkins giving the state police permission to search their residence at 291 Augusta Avenue in Bowling Green, KY. Investigators found two SUV Lexus' in the garage of the residence that were entered as stolen.

Terry Hunt and Justin Hawkins plead guilty to the charges of Arson and Fraud, and received 20 year sentences each.

They are currently lodged in the Butler County Jail awaiting final sentencing. Hunt and Hawkins have been charged with the vehicle thefts, and will be arraigned in Butler, and Warren Counties.
