Arrest in Warren County, KY

(BOWLING GREEN, KY) The Kentucky State Police received a complaint at 05:50 hours on Saturday, April 09, 2005, regarding a car parked in the middle of H.T. Downing Road, approximately 8 miles north of Bowling Green, KY. Upon arrival, Tpr. Lanham and Tpr. Swiney approached the vehicle and noticed the vehicle was running with the operator asleep. After waking the operator (Robert Wilson) up and having him step outside his vehicle, we noticed he was very incoherent and his speech was very slurred. Upon checking the subject for weapons for our safety, we found a glass pipe in his jacket pocket that had been used for smoking methamphetamine. After placing Wilson under arrest, a more in-depth search revealed a cooking thermometer, two baggies with suspected methamphetamine in them, digital scales in his vehicle, and $391.00 on his person. A computer check on Wilson revealed he was wanted in Mercer County, KY and Warren County, KY for unrelated drug charges, D.U.I. and failure to appear.
Charges: Improper parking, license to be in possession, no insurance, D.U.I. 1st, trafficking in a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, 4 indictment warrants from Mercer County, KY (Possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, D.U.I. 1st, fleeing and evading police 1st, 3 indictment warrants from Warren County, KY (Possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and failure to appear).
