Bootlegging Investigation in Hart County, KY

Date of News Release: 03/26/2005

(BOWLING GREEN, Ky.) - KSP received a complaint on 03/25 advising of a possible bootlegging operation taking place at the above location. An Undercover Detective approached the residence and met with Suspect #1. Suspect #1 sold a case of beer from his residence to the Undercover Unit. A search warrant was then obtained for the residence. Upon execution of the search warrant, the below items were located and Roscoe R. Howard, age 60 of Munfordville, KY, (Suspect #1) was taken into custody for the charged with Illegal sale/ serve alcohol in dry territory, possession of alcohol in dry territory, & possession of controlled substance. Mr. Howard is currently lodged in the Hart County Jail.

  • 25 pints of various whiskeys
  • 116 cans & bottles of various brands of beer
  • $125.00 in cash
  • .2 grams of cocaine

While KSP Troopers were surrounding this residence, Troopers observed a large amount of beer in plain view on an adjoining property. A search warrant was then obtained for this property and the items listed below were recovered. Roy Howard, age 54 from Munfordville, KY, (Suspect #2) was located and charged with the charges of Illegal possession of alcohol in dry territory with intent to sale. Mr. Roy Howard was cited and released.
