Vehicle Fire Leads to DUI Arrest in Herndon, KY

Herndon, KY (Christian County) - John Broadbent age 53 of Hopkinsville, KY was operating a 2003 Chevrolet Trail Blazer on Cox Mill Road (KY 695) when he attempted to turn around in a driveway. Mr. Broadbent missed the driveway and went into the ditch line where his vehicle became stuck. In his attempt to free his vehicle, excessive spinning of the tires resulted in the back, right tire catching fire. The fire spread and engulfed the entire vehicle. No injuries were reported. Tpr. Bob Winters arrested Mr. Broadbent and charged him with DUI. Broadbent was lodged in the Christian County Detention Center. The incident occurred on November 3, 2005 at approximately 11:15 p.m.
