Stats From Post 2 For October 2005

For the month of October 2005, Post 2 reports the following activity:

  • Arrested 30 Drunken Drivers
  • Issued a Total of 1,383 Citations
  • Issued 497 Speeding Citations
  • Issued 218 Seatbelt Citations
  • Issued 8 Child Restraint Citations
  • Issued 781 Courtesy Notices
  • Investigated 121 Crashes
  • Inspected 1,933 Vehicles
  • Assisted 175 Stranded Motorists
  • Answered 1,228 Criminal Complaints
  • Opened 113 Criminal Cases
  • Made 110 Criminal Arrests

There were eight (8) fatal crashes reported in the Post 2 District in October 2005. Nine (9) people were killed as a result of the crashes. Two single fatalities occurred in Christian County, two single fatalities occurred in Hopkins County, one single fatality occurred in Muhlenberg County and two single fatalities and one double fatality occurred in Todd County. Eight (8) victims were not wearing seatbelts and one (1) victim was not wearing a helmet.

For the entire year, thirty-nine (39) people have been killed in thirty-seven (37) crashes in the Post 2 District. Twenty-four (24) victims were not wearing a seatbelt, five (5) victims were wearing a seatbelt, three (3) victims were not wearing a helmet, three (3) victims were wearing a helmet, and four (4) victims it is unknown if a seatbelt was worn.

Through October 31, 2004, forty-five (45) people had been killed in forty-one (41) crashes in the Post 2 District.

Citizens can contribute to highway safety by reporting erratic drivers to the Kentucky State Police toll-free at 1-800-222-5555 (in the state of Kentucky only, does not work out of state). Callers will remain anonymous and should give a description of the vehicle, location, direction of travel and license number if possible.

Post 2 serves the following counties: Caldwell, Christian, Crittenden, Hopkins, Muhlenberg, Todd, and Webster.
