Update to Death Investigation in Slaughters, KY

Slaughters, KY (Webster County) - An autopsy was performed today on the victim, Michael L. Dove, at the State Medical Examiner's Office in Louisville. Mr. Dove died as a result of a single gunshot.

On Monday, October 17, 2005, the Kentucky State Police responded to a residence located at 2231 KY 1835 north of Slaughters reference a possible shooting. Upon arriving, Kentucky State Police discovered the deceased victim and an injured subject, Jeffery K. Dehaven. Mr. Dehaven was transported to the Regional Medical Center in Madisonville for treatment of a gunshot wound.

Mr. Dehaven has been charged with murder and is currently admitted at the Regional Medical Center. He is under guard by the Kentucky State Police. The Kentucky State Police are continuing the investigation.
