Death Investigation in Slaughters, KY

Date of News Release: 10/17/2005

Slaughters, KY (Webster County) - On Monday, October 17, 2005 at approximately 3:56 a.m., the Kentucky State Police Post 2 in Madisonville was notified by Webster County Dispatch of a possible shooting. The location of the incident was 2231 KY 1835 approximately 3 to 4 miles north of Slaughters.

Upon arriving, Kentucky State Police discovered one subject deceased and another subject injured. The injured subject, Jeffery K. Dehaven age 42 of Slaughters, KY, was transported to the Regional Medical Center in Madisonville for treatment. The deceased subject has been identified as Michael L. Dove age 38 of Edinburg, VA. It appears that Mr. Dove had been shot.

Jeffery Dehaven has been charged with murder and has been admitted to the Regional Medical Center. He is currently under guard by the Kentucky State Police.
