Drug Arrest in Hopkins County, KY

(Hopkins County) - Mr. Troy Thomas was observed stopped in the middle of the highway on US41 in Slaughters, KY. A vehicle equipment infraction was observed on his vehicle and a traffic stop was conducted. In a roadside interview, Troopers detected inconsistencies in Mr. Thomas' statements and they became suspicious of his activities. A search of Mr. Thomas and the vehicle revealed a small quanity of Methamphetamine that was packaged in individual bags, items of drug paraphernalia, and items indicative of the sale of illegal controlled substances. It was also determined that Mr. Thomas was under the influence of Methamphetamine at the time of the traffic stop. Mr. Thomas was arrested and lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center on a $5,000.00 cash bond.
