Drug Arrest in Nortonville, KY

Nortonville, KY (Hopkins County) - On July 28, 2005 the Kentucky State Police Post 2 in Madisonville received a call of an erratic driver traveling southbound on the Pennyrile Parkway. Tpr. Bobby Murray located the suspect vehicle and observed it driving erratically. Tpr. Murray stopped the vehicle one mile north of Nortonville at approximately 9:53 a.m. Tpr. Mark Combs and his K-9 responded to the scene to assist Tpr. Murray. The K-9 "hit" on the vehicle and a bag of suspected heroin was located. The driver of the vehicle, Ryan A. Meives age 20 of Mt. Hourb, WI, was arrested without incident and charged with Possession of a Controlled Substance 1st-Heroin, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon, DUI 1st and Failure to Wear a Seatbelt. He was lodged in the Hopkins County Detention Center.
