Stats From Post 2 For June 2005

For the month of June 2005, Post 2 reports the following activity:

  • Arrested 47 Drunken Drivers
  • Issued a Total of 1,394 Citations
  • Issued 470 Speeding Citations
  • Issued 233 Seatbelt Citations
  • Issued 38 Child Restraint Citations
  • Issued 735 Courtesy Notices
  • Investigated 108 Crashes
  • Inspected 2,633 Vehicles
  • Assisted 266 Stranded Motorists
  • Answered 1,195 Criminal Complaints
  • Opened 103 Criminal Cases
  • Made 92 Criminal Arrests

There were three (3) fatal crashes reported in the Post 2 District in June 2005. Three (3) people were killed as a result of the crashes. Two single fatalities occurred in Christian County and one single fatality occurred in Hopkins County. Two (2) of the victims were not wearing seatbelts. One (1) victim was wearing a seatbelt.

Through June 30, 2005, seventeen (17) people have been killed in sixteen (16) crashes in the Post 2 District. Nine (9) victims were not wearing a seatbelt, four (4) victims were wearing a seatbelt, one (1) victim was not wearing a helmet, and three (3) victims it is unknown if a seatbelt was worn.

Through June 30, 2004, twenty-seven (27) people had been killed in twenty-four (24) crashes in the Post 2 District.

Post 2 serves the following counties: Caldwell, Christian, Crittenden, Hopkins, Muhlenberg, Todd, and Webster.

Citizens can contribute to highway safety by reporting erratic drivers to the Kentucky State Police toll-free at 1-800-222-5555 (in the state of Kentucky only, does not work out of state). Callers will remain anonymous and should give a description of the vehicle, location, direction of travel and license number if possible.
