Fugitive Russell E. Winstead to be Featured on America's Most Wanted
Date of News Release: 02/17/2005
Madisonville, KY (Hopkins County) - Fugitive Russell Earl Winstead will be featured on Fox Television's America's Most Wanted program this Saturday, February 19, 2005 at 8 p.m. CST.
Winstead is accused of entering the residence of Anna Mae Branson in Madisonville on January 12, 2003 and killing her. On July 15, 2003, Russell Winstead was indicted by the Hopkins County Grand Jury for the murder and first degree robbery of Anna Branson.
Prior to the indictment being handed down, Winstead fled the United States to Costa Rica. It is believed that Winstead is still residing in Costa Rica. Kentucky State Police Detective Ben Wolcott stated, "we hope that using the national media as an outlet will assist in returning Winstead to Madisonville."
The FBI has offered a $10,000 reward for information that leads to the capture of Winstead.
