For the month of December 2004, Post 2 reports the following activity:

  • Arrested 30 Drunken Drivers
  • Issued a Total of 1,322 Citations
  • Issued 468 Speeding Citations
  • Issued 164 Seatbelt Citations
  • Issued 25 Child Restraint Citations
  • Issued 667 Courtesy Notices
  • Investigated 120 Crashes
  • Inspected 2,563 Vehicles
  • Assisted 1,043 Stranded Motorists
  • Answered 1,240 Criminal Complaints
  • Opened 116 Criminal Cases
  • Made 138 Criminal Arrests

There were three (3) fatal crashes reported in the Post 2 District in December 2004. Three (3) people were killed as a result of the crashes. Muhlenberg County had two single fatality crashes and Todd County had one. One victim was not wearing a seatbelt and two victims were wearing a seatbelt.

For the entire year, fifty-three (53) people have been killed in forty-nine (49) crashes in the Post 2 District. Twenty-nine (29) victims were not wearing a seatbelt, seventeen (17) victims were wearing a seatbelt, one (1) victim was not wearing a helmet, two (2) victims were wearing a helmet, two (2) victims it is unknown if a seatbelt was worn, one (1) was not applicable, and one (1) victim was a pedestrian.

Through December 31, 2003, forty-five (45) people were killed in forty-one (41) crashes in the Post 2 District.

Post 2 serves the following counties: Caldwell, Christian, Crittenden, Hopkins, Muhlenberg, Todd, and Webster.
