Paducah Woman Charged with Falsely Reporting a Criminal Incident

Date of News Release: 07/27/2005

(PADUCAH, KY.) On 7-27-2005, Kentucky State Police investigators charged a Paducah woman with falsely reporting a criminal incident. In June 2005, The Paducah Police Department requested Detective George Bell to investigate a rape allegation made against Paducah officer Brian Laird by Kelly A. Christian. Christian alleged Officer Laird came to her apartment and raped her. The investigation by Detective Bell revealed Christian, 25 of Paducah, made the false allegations against the officer in an attempt to get out of other criminal charges. Detective Bell served Christian, who was already in the McCracken County Jail, with an arrest warrant charging her with Falsely Reporting an Incident. The Paducah Police Department assisted state police with the investigation. The investigation is continuing by Detective George Bell.
