Human Skeletal Remains Found in Trigg County, KY

(HICKORY, KY.) The Kentucky State Police, Trigg County Sheriff's Department, and the Trigg County Coroner's Office are investigating the discovery of human skeletal remains, near the Linton community, in southern Trigg County.

On Saturday, April 16th, the Trigg County Sheriff's Department was notified that persons visiting a vacant homestead near Linton had discovered a possible human leg bone.

State Police and Sheriff's Department personnel responded to the scene and located additional evidence and remains. State Forensic Anthropologist, Dr. Emily Craig, has confirmed that the remains are human. A more detailed autopsy is pending in Frankfort.

State Police and Sheriff's Department personnel remained on the scene into the early morning hours of Sunday, April 17th. More information will be released pending the autopsy results and additional testing.

State Police were assisted at the scene by the Trigg County Sheriff's Department, Trigg County Coroner's Office, and the Cadiz Fire Department.
