Meth Lab Arrest in Marshall County

(HICKORY, KY.) On April 10, 2005 Kentucky State Police received an anonymous tip of two male subjects that were attempting to obtain medications that are used as precursors of methamphetamine. After acting on the information provided, Trooper Trent Weaver located the subject's vehicle on Karen Faye Lane in the Hardin community. The driver of the vehicle gave Trooper Weaver verbal consent to search his vehicle. Upon searching the vehicle, Trooper Weaver located a cooler in the trunk that involved an active meth lab. Trooper Weaver placed Timothy J. Walters, 38 of Hardin, under arrest after this discovery. Also located in the vehicle were several precursors that are used to make methamphetamine. Mr. Walters then gave consent for a search of his residence, where more of the ingredients were located. Mr. Walters was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine- firearm enhanced, possession of anhydrous ammonia in other than approved container- firearm enhanced, tampering with anhydrous ammonia with the intent to manufacture methamphetamine- firearm enhanced, unlawful possession of precursors with intent to manufacture methamphetamine- firearm enhanced, and possession of controlled substance 1st degree- firearm enhanced. Mr. Walters was lodged in the Marshall County Jail, and more arrests are pending. The investigation continues by Trooper Weaver and the Kentucky State Police.
