Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st-(Cocaine)

(Mayfield, KY.) On 3-7-05 at 5:36PM, Kentucky State Police 911 received a call from the General Tire Guard Shack advising there was a man with a gun outside the plant. Troopers and deputies arrived and located Thomas George in his vehicle, parked illegally on General Tire Drive.
Trooper Jessup arrested Thomas George, 56 of Salem, charging him with DUI 1st Aggravating Circumstances, Possession of an Open Alcoholic Container in Motor Vehicle, Failure to Wear Seat Belt, No Insurance, Improper Registration, Kentucky Resident Using Out of State Plates, Possession of 6.5 grams of Marijuana, Possession of Drug Paraphernalia 2nd, Prescription Drugs not in Proper Container, and Trafficking in Controlled Substance 1st-9 grams of Cocaine.
The investigation by Trooper Jessup revealed a 16 year-old juvenile riding with George jumped out of the vehicle while stopped on U.S. 45 and ran to General Tire where he advised the guard that the man he was riding with had a gun. George had no previous ties as an employee at General Tire. The juvenile was not charged but was taken into custody by the Department for Families and Children and placed in foster care. George was lodged in the Graves County Jail.
The Graves County Sheriff's Department assisted state police at the scene. The investigation is continuing by Trooper Jessup.
