Arrest Made in Cashing Stolen Lottery Tickets
Date of News Release: 03/02/2005
(PADUCAH, KY.) Troopers with the Kentucky State Police arrested a Paducah man for cashing stolen Kentucky lottery tickets. On 3-01-05 Trooper T.J. Williams arrested Zachary L. Belt 19 of Paducah, charging him with three counts of Influence or Attempt to Influence the Winnings of a Prize through Coercion, Fraud or Deception, a class B Felony. The lottery tickets were taken during a September 30, 2004 burglary of Thompson's Grocery in Livingston County. Belt was identified as a suspect after investigators obtained a store surveillance video from a Paducah business where the tickets were cashed. Belt was lodged in the McCracken County Detention Center. Further charges are pending. The investigation is continuing by Livingston County Sheriff's Detective Allen Glendening and Trooper T.J. Williams.
