Stolen Vehicle from Evansville, Arrest Made Near Shawneetown Bridge

(Henderson, KY.) - At 00:55 am, Trooper Mitch Hampton and Union County Sheriffs Deputy Jason Thomas was conducting a traffic safety checkpoint at the Shawneetown Bridge. As a vehicle approached the vehicle stopped short of their position and then proceeded to the roadcheck. Upon inspecting the vehicle and questioning the occupants, the juvenile advised that the vehicle had been stolen from Evansville Indiana near a poolhall on First Street. Before leaving Evansville a license plate was taken off an Illinois vehicle and put on the vehicle they were driving. The 17-year-old juvenile advised that she and a friend, Scott DeFever had taken the vehicle and was enroute to Shawneetown Illinois. Defever was arrested and lodged in the Union County Jail, the 17 year old female was taken into custody and placed in the McCracken County Juvenile Center. The vehicle was a 1993 Pontiac Bonneville.
