Post 16 Fatal Crash Update

(Henderson, KY) - The Kentucky State Police Post 16 is providing a weekly fatality update to ensure that we are all reminded of the loss of lives across Kentucky on our roadways. We encourage our media outlets to advertise this information to assist in reducing the number of Kentuckian's killed.
In the Henderson Post 16 district, we have had 4 person killed in car crashes. Three of the four killed were not wearing a seatbelt, the other one was not known. One of the four was ejected from the vehicle. Of the four killed, one in Daviess County, one in Henderson County, one in Hancock County and one in Ohio County.
Across Kentucky, 59 people have died on Kentucky's roadways; this is 13 higher than last years total for the same reporting period. Of the 59 killed, 35 were not wearing a seatbelt, 14 were belted, 4 unknown seatbelt usage and 6 pedestrian were killed after being struck by a motor vehicle.
The Kentucky State Police encourage everyone to buckle up and slow down. The most important equipment in your vehicle is the seatbelt.
