Pursuit Leads to an Arrest

(Columbia, KY) - An early morning vehicle pursuit resulted in the arrest of a Russell County man. At 8:22 a.m. the Kentucky State Police received a call that a 30 year-old, Russell Springs resident, Otha David Grider was threatening a female subject with an axe.

Tpr. Jeremy Johnson and Russell County Sheriff's units located and attempted to stop the vehicle near the Lake Cumberland State Park on U.S. 127. Mr. Grider refused to comply, and a near thirty mile pursuit ensued. The pursuit ended when Tpr. Johnson forced Mr. Grider's vehicle off the roadway at the junction of KY Highway 829 and KY Highway 90 in Clinton County.

Mr. Grider was treated and released at the Clinton County Hospital and then lodged in the Russell County Jail under numerous charges, including a felony charge of fleeing or evading police during a domestic incident. More charges will be filed as the investigation continues.
