Methamphetamine Lab Discovered in Clinton County, KY

(Columbia, KY) - Trooper David Long received a tip that methamphetamine was being made at Vernon Chadwell residence, on Highway 696, in Clinton County. Trooper David Long, Trooper Jeremy Johnson, Trooper Andy Olsen, Albany Police Department and Clinton County Sheriff's Department responded to this location. After a knock and talk by Trooper Long, units discovered what appeared to be a red phosphorus cooking operation. Detective Tim Simpson, with Drug Enforcement West, and Detective George Atwood, with post 15, was notified to respond and clean up the lab. This was completed without incident. Arrested at the scene was Vernon Chadwell, of Albany KY, age 49. He was charged with manufacturing methamphetamine and lodged in the Clinton County Jail.
